Amid rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, a mountain collapsed in Mandi. On Saturday morning, a large part of the mountain fell onto the road just in front of a bus traveling from Pandoh to Maviseri in Mandi district. Stones fell on the bus, but the driver’s quick thinking saved it from being caught in the landslide. The driver immediately showed presence of mind, stopped the bus, and began evacuating the passengers. In the blink of an eye, more debris fell onto the road from the mountain. There were around 30 passengers in the bus at the time. Seeing the mountain collapse suddenly, the passengers panicked and chaos broke out. People immediately got off the bus. The debris blocked the road. The passengers praised the driver for his presence of mind. After the incident, the administration team was dispatched to the site to clear the road. People said that a major accident was averted thanks to the quick thinking of bus driver Bittu and conductor Manu. The Thakur Coach bus was traveling from Pandoh towards Maviseri in the morning. At around 8:55 AM near Thamlah Khad, a large amount of debris suddenly fell from the mountain, but driver Bittu controlled the bus in time by showing quick thinking. All the passengers in the bus escaped unharmed. During this, conductor Manu also played an important role in managing the passengers.
