Two sadhus trapped on an island inside the Tawi river were dramatically rescued today. The water levels in the river suddenly rose after overnight rains in Jammu. When repeated attempts by them to get out of the river failed, due to the fast river current, fire tenders were brought in and they were pulled out from the river with the help of long ropes. The exercise lasted for about an hour and finally both of them were brought to safety.
