Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in his Hindi Day message, highlighted India’s linguistic diversity and described it as the country’s strength. Shah said Hindi has played a key role in connecting people across communities while stressing that its growth must go hand in hand with respect for all Indian languages. He cited Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Mahatma Gandhi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as examples of leaders who promoted Hindi despite having different mother tongues.
