The political battle over alleged voter disenfranchisement has moved from Parliament to the streets, with the INDIA bloc holding a mega rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan and stepping up its attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the BJP-led government. Rahul Gandhi accused the ruling dispensation of undermining the electoral process and questioned the legitimacy of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, while opposition leaders including Mamata Banerjee, Mallikarjun Kharge and Akhilesh Yadav echoed concerns over voter roll revisions and the SIR exercise. The BJP hit back with a counter protest, dismissed the rally as a "flop show", questioned turnout claims, and asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoys strong public support and is "not going anywhere."
