DK Shivakumar Elected Karnataka CLP Leader Unanimously: KC Venugopal

Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal announced that the Karnataka Congress Legislature Party has unanimously elected DK Shivakumar as its leader after Siddaramaiah's resignation as Chief Minister. Shivakumar's name was proposed by Siddaramaiah and seconded by Dr. G. Parameshwara, with the high command's backing. He will now meet the Governor to stake claim to form the government and is set to take oath as Chief Minister on June 3.
