Delhi Riots 2020 | 'Shocking That These Two People Have Not Got Bail': Asaduddin Owaisi
AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi reacted to the continued denial of bail to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam, calling it “surprising and shocking”. Speaking on the demolition drive carried out by the MCD near Faiz-e-Elahi Masjid at Turkman Gate, Owaisi claimed the land belongs to the Waqf and alleged procedural lapses in the Delhi High Court case. He criticised the Delhi Waqf Board for not being made a party to the proceedings and said the matter should now be taken to the Supreme Court to seek status quo, asserting that the demolition has caused loss to Waqf property.
