CBDT ends confusion over FBT calculation
The confusion over Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) calculation on ESOPs may finally be over. The CBDT on Tuesday issued guidelines for calculating the amount on which the tax will be levied. The Finance Minister has stuck to his stance of not offering any concession. FBT will be paid on the difference between the Fair Market Value and price at which companies issues the ESOPS.
