This week we look at the eternal conservation question of mega fauna versus smaller animals. We take a journey with rhinos, one of the largest mammals, whose conservation and protection enabled the growth of their population and the Pygmy hog, one of the smallest mammals, that fell through the cracks with no attention. A dedicated group of people, however, are helping them fight for their survival. Yet, the presence of the hogs and the health of wet alluvial grasslands are entwined. If the hogs get support, automatically, the rest of the animals survive, if protection stays in place.
