The Bombay High Court has imposed a ₹5 lakh fine on the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over the suspension of a Pune sweet shop’s licence. The court also ordered compensation to Gurunanak Dairy and Sweets, which claimed losses of ₹8.74 lakh after its closure in June. The court observed that the licence remained suspended despite the shop achieving 98% compliance and allowed the establishment to reopen. The FDA had earlier flagged sanitation and staff hygiene concerns.
