Bengaluru News | Bengaluru Real Estate Tycoon Dies By Suicide- Here's What Happened

Confident Group Chairman Dr. C.J. Roy was found dead at his office in Bengaluru amid questioning by Income Tax officials. According to the company’s Managing Director T.A. Joseph, Roy had been cooperating with authorities following IT raids conducted in early December. He was questioned over seized documents and had earlier appeared before officials in Kerala. After returning from Dubai, Roy informed officials of his availability in Bengaluru, where the questioning resumed. On the day of the incident, Roy went into his cabin at the company’s Langford Road office and later instructed security not to allow anyone inside. When repeated knocks went unanswered, the door was forced open and Roy was found unresponsive. He was rushed to Narayana Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A complaint has been filed at Ashok Nagar Police Station, and a case has been registered under Section 174(c) of the BNSS. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. NDTV's Deepak Bopanna reports.
