Reacting to Bengaluru's chronic traffic congestion, Mohandas Pai said the city needs a massive expansion of public transport infrastructure, including 500 kilometres of metro connectivity and a significantly larger bus fleet. Pai blamed years of delays, frequent leadership changes, cost escalations, and poor project management for the city's traffic woes, noting that metro projects are running nearly five years behind schedule. He urged Chief Minister-designate DK Shivakumar to establish a dedicated "war room" to monitor infrastructure projects on a weekly basis, arguing that strong oversight and faster execution are essential to solving Bengaluru's mobility crisis.
