Bengal Polls 2026 | Exclusive: Chief Electoral Officer Assures Free, Fair Voting Amid Voter List Row

Election authorities have assured free, fair, and fearless polling in West Bengal even as a political storm brews over voter list revisions. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said extensive measures, including 100% webcasting and 360-degree booth surveillance, are in place to ensure transparency and security. The assurance comes amid allegations from opposition parties claiming targeted deletions and community bias in the electoral roll clean-up process. The Election Commission of India has urged maximum voter participation, stressing that no violence will be tolerated during the polls. NDTV's Manogya Loiwal reports.
