West Bengal Bypolls: BJP Leads In Nandigram, Rejinagar Bypolls As Workers Begin Celebrations

Counting is underway for the Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly bypolls in West Bengal, with the BJP leading in both constituencies according to early trends. BJP workers have begun celebrations in Nandigram as the party’s candidate takes the lead. The bypolls mark the BJP’s first electoral test since coming to power in West Bengal in May. Nandigram recorded 80.89% voter turnout on October 6, while Rejinagar saw 80.08%. The results will not affect the government’s majority, with the BJP having won 207 of 294 Assembly seats.
