Baghpat: Battle of The Heavyweights

There is a high stake battle for the BJP in Phase 1 of Uttar Pradesh polling. BJP won all eight phase 1 seats in 2014 but lost Kairana to SP-BSP in 2018 bypolls. Baghpat has approximately 16 lakhs voters and is one of the key constituencies in Western Uttar Pradesh. Tonight, speaking to NDTV's Amitoj Singh, the voters of Baghpat discuss who their next leader should be and also talk about some of the important issues related to the city, which are, sugarcane dues over 10,000 crore rupees and the menace of stray cattle. The other issue that they highlight is that the communal polarisation among Jats, and how the Muslim vote is a big factor in Phase 1.
