There's been a marginal improvement in the flood situation at Silchar, one of the worst-hit regions in Assam. Over 22 lakh people in 28 districts are still reeling from the flood fury. The death count due to flood and landslides has risen to 126 in Assam since April 6. 564 relief camps and 116 relief distribution centres are still functioning in affected areas, but the situation in these camps is dire.
