What is the shortest trip you have ever planned? A man from New York recently took social media by storm for his extremely 'mini' vacation at a famous Italian destination. He planned his visit to Rome as a "day trip." Sounds quite unusual, doesn't it? Travel influencer Kevin (@kevindroniak) shared a quick reel documenting his travel and experiences in the capital city. He took a 5 pm flight from New York, which would land the following day around 7 am in Rome. His return flight was booked for the same day at 7 pm from Italy. "I feel like that's more than enough time," he says.

Kevin explains, "My logic here is that I'm going to bed anyway tonight, so why not sleep on an eight-hour flight and wake up in Italy?" After he lands, he heads to the Colosseum around 9 am. He enjoys pizza for breakfast as he feasts his eyes on a view of this world-famous monument. Later, he explores the historic site for some time. When he finds it too crowded, he decides to leave and go to the next spot in his itinerary. He rides a bike on the Appian Way, one of the most ancient roads in the world. He roams around on his cycle, relishing the beauty and serenity of the place. He notes that he didn't see any other tourists around him. "This is definitely the highlight of my day so far. And the fact that tonight I'm going to bed in my New York City apartment... Life is wild," he states.

Shortly after, it starts raining and Kevin gets drenched. As he doesn't have a change of clothes, he is forced to go dripping wet to a restaurant for lunch. He shares a glimpse of his meal, which seemed to be a pasta delicacy. "Low-key feel like I could have made this at home," he claims. It stops raining by the time he has to head to the airport. Once he reaches, he declares, "It feels like I was just here - because I was." He flies back to New York and says that he would take such a trip again. Watch the complete viral video below:

Here's how Instagram users reacted to this viral reel:

"You always remind me I can be wayyyyy more insane with my travels."

"I love this logic."

"This would be incredible for me if I could sleep on planes, but doing this trip would have me awake for close to 48 hours. Consider yourself blessed if you can sleep on flights!"

"'Gotta go to bed anyway. Why not do it on an 8 hr flight?' This is a damn good example of changing the narrative!!! Ciao!"

"This is great, but I don't think I could just spend 8 hours in Italy. I'd be so tempted to stay longer."

"I did not need to see this, lol - to know this is possible, I'm going to research and see if I can do the same!"

"I wish I had money as well."

"This is the energy I aspire to have."

"The anxiety of this one-day trip! I cannot! Godspeed, sir."

"Love your day travel adventures. You only have one life to live, and you are making the best of it! Thanks for the inspiration."

"100% chance I would miss my flight because I didn't want to go home."

In a separate video, Kevin provided a complete cost breakdown of his day trip. He revealed that he spent a total of $641 (approximately Rs 54,800) on the same. He said, "That is money well spent to me, because I just wanted a day in Europe. I don't need to spend weeks on end there, and if I did, or [spent] multiple nights somewhere, it would have cost me a few thousand dollars."
