Shennongjia National Nature Reserve in Hubei province, China, is going viral on the internet for a unique job opening. The natural scenic spot in central China is hiring people to pose as savages for tourists, reported the South China Morning Post (SCMP). The recruiting began on June 7 and about 10,000 people have already applied for the job, the scenic zone's management company told the Beijing News on June 9. The salary for this "savage" role is 500 yuan (Rs 6000) a day.

According to a recruitment advertisement, any person who gets hired for this role has to wear savage clothing, patrol the forest area, dance, and engage in other interactions with tourists.

Eating Raw Food And Posting Videos On Social Media

The "savages" are required to accept and eat food given to them by tourists, according to the advertisement. "Those who like to eat raw food will also be given priority," the company told the media.

"Those with an open personality, who are creative in shooting short videos and accustomed to living in the wild for a long time, will be preferred," it added.

No Talking With Tourists, Except In One Situation

The "savage" workers are not allowed to speak during their shifts. They can only make a purring noise when interacting with tourists. The only time they can speak is when tourists ask for directions to the toilets, according to the job advertisement. The "savage" workers are also forbidden to touch wild animals and must run away immediately if they encounter unidentified creatures, the job description said.

There is no gender or age limit for candidates, and the working hours are from 8 am to 5 pm. The tour zone plans to hire 16 people who will work from July to August this year.
