The aviation sector in the Middle East is severely impacted by the ongoing Gulf War. The airspace issues have led several airlines to cancel or reschedule their flights. Recently, in an advisory posted on X, Oman Air, a Muscat-based airline, also announced the cancellation of multiple flights to 9 cities until 31 March 2026. According to the travel advisory, travellers are advised to rebook their flights or opt for a refund on their bookings.
Oman Air Cancels Flights Till March 31
Oman Air has confirmed that several of its flights will remain cancelled until 31 March 2026 due to continued airspace restrictions in the region. While the airline says most of its flights are operating normally, certain routes are still impacted. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the airline said, "Flights continue to operate as normal, with additional services across our network. However, due to ongoing regional airspace closures, some routes remain temporarily affected.” Flights to and from Amman, Dubai, Bahrain, Doha, Dammam, Kuwait, Copenhagen, Baghdad, and Khasab are cancelled.

While the airline has apologised for the inconvenience, in this time of uncertainty about air travel, it is recommended to be prepared for last-minute changes in your booking.
Indians In Doha Made Way Back Home On Qatar Airways
While cancellations are causing stress to Indian travellers all over the region, there's some relief coming from Doha. In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Qatar has confirmed that around 1,100 Indians travelled back home yesterday on flights operated by Qatar Airways. These passengers were flown to cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, and more.
For many stranded travellers, this has come as a major relief. The Embassy has also shared that Qatar Airways will continue operating flights to India, starting 18 March, covering multiple cities such as Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode, and Mumbai.

If you're in Doha and planning to travel to India, you must book your tickets directly through Qatar Airways or via a travel agent. The Embassy also updated that its registration link for those seeking travel assistance will be closing soon. It will continue helping Indian nationals with temporary transit visas via Saudi Arabia, offering an alternative route for those unable to get direct flights.
