As celebrations light up the sky, it is our four-legged friends that often don't like it. Recognising the stress fireworks cause for dogs, one forward-thinking hotel chain in London introduced a special dog-friendly TV channel to calm anxious pups during Bonfire Night. Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch added the channel across all TVs in its pet-friendly rooms. The 'Calm for Canine' channel features footage of carefree dogs sprinting across fields and beaches, gentle waves and sailing boats.

It also includes adorable scenes of rabbits playing in the snow, munching on carrots and red squirrels collecting walnuts and splashing in water - all set to calming classical music. The colour palette, dominated by blues, yellows and greens, has been specifically chosen for its appeal to dogs, creating a visually soothing experience, reported The Sun

The initiative came after new research by Virgin Red revealed that 87% of dog owners avoid city trips with their pets during fireworks displays. Additionally, two-thirds of these owners dread November 5 due to the distress fireworks cause their pets.

A spokesperson from Virgin Hotels said, "Fireworks night causes great nervousness for our four-legged friends and their owners, especially in cities like London. That's why we've gone the extra mile to ensure our furry guests can come and live a VIP lifestyle with us on any day of the year."

That is not all. The hotel also offers a pet menu featuring luxury treats like scampi fries and chicken-flavoured "bark brew" dog beer. "We don't just allow pets, we spoil them," the spokesperson said.
