Italy is on almost every traveller's bucket list. The country of pizza, pasta, art and romance is a dream destination for many. From sipping coffee at a Roman cafe to watching sunsets in Florence, everything about Italy sounds straight out of a movie. But sometimes, what looks dreamy in reels turns into a real-life adventure - especially when you decide to eat out.

Content creator Vagmita Singh, who recently visited Italy, shared a hilarious take on her restaurant experience. In her Instagram video, she said, "Bhai Italy aake pata lag raha hai ki yaha pe jake restaurant me khana khana ek imtehan se kam nhi hai vo bhi national level ka. (After coming to Italy, I realised that eating at a restaurant here is nothing less than a national-level test).

She started with something that shocked her - paying for the cutlery. "Sabse pehle to yaha pe restaurant me apse cutlery ke paise liye jate hai. [First of all, in restaurants here, they charge you for the cutlery.] I had no clue. When I saw it in the bill, I was like, 'Excuse me, what is this coperto and why have you charged me for it?'," Vagmita said. She then explained that the waiter was "pissed" and told her that it was the plate she had eaten on.

That wasn't the only surprise. Even the simplest customisations could turn into a full-blown discussion. "Like I had a bad throat and I wanted rum with hot water - Indian solution," the content creator shared. The answer she got from the waitress was, "I have to check," which left Vagmita disappointed.

And it did not stop there. When the content creator's friend asked for his drink without ice, the server said they had to "check" if they could serve it that way. Shocking, right?

Here is how the internet reacted to the video:

A user wrote, "Been there. Experienced it. No country is better than India when it comes to convenience." Another added, "I just found the whole of Europe, mainly the restaurant industry, very rude."

"They have to check literally everything. But with whom are they checking?" read a comment. Someone said, "In Europe, the customer is always wrong! No customer service at all - that's nonexistent!"

A person posted, "So true. I won't recommend anyone going to the main cities of Italy, like Florence, Rome and Milan, for sure."
