The Bihar Tourism Department has launched its first-ever luxury Caravan buses to offer travellers a 5-star hotel experience on wheels. Exploring the state's tourist circuits, the buses come equipped with premium amenities such as private bedrooms, a fully functional kitchen, entertainment systems and advanced safety features.
Pricing And Travel Routes
The caravans are priced at Rs 75 per kilometre, with a minimum daily usage requirement of 250 kilometres (approximately Rs 20,000 per day). They are designed to make road trips to destinations like Bodhgaya, Nalanda and Valmiki Nagar.
Crafted With High-End Hospitality Standards
Ratnesh Kumar, Manager at the Bihar Tourism Department, told ANI that the caravans are crafted with meticulous attention to detail and were built in Chandigarh to adhere to high-end hospitality standards. He mentioned that the department is currently working on obtaining all necessary permits, including a nationwide travel permit that would allow tourists to take the vehicles to any part of the country without restrictions.
The primary objective of these caravans is to provide a flexible and elevated travel experience for passengers. The service caters to the increasing demand for mobile tourism options, offering tourists a unique way to explore destinations across the country.
The caravans boast an impressive array of premium amenities, complemented by advanced security features like CCTV surveillance. As per Ratnesh, these vehicles offer a luxurious experience akin to a "moving five-star hotel."
The interiors are carefully designed to strike a perfect balance between indulgence and practicality. With safety and comfort as top priorities, each caravan is equipped with fire detectors, an emergency exit, air suspension and 360-degree revolving chairs to ensure a smooth and secure journey.
Luxurious Add-Ons For Long Journeys
Additional features include a dedicated dressing room, ample storage space and aircraft-style overhead compartments. The interiors are fitted with four plush inclinator seats, a three-seater sofa, smart TVs and an integrated theatre system.
Furthermore, a fully equipped kitchen with high-end appliances supports long journeys, while the bathrooms with showers and four private bedrooms - each furnished with orthopaedic mattresses for cervical support - add to the overall sense of comfort and homeliness.
Caravan Tourism On The Rise In India
Caravan tourism is becoming increasingly popular in India as a distinctive and exciting way to discover new destinations. Several state tourism boards have sanctioned projects and set up caravan parks. This mode of travel has proven ideal for families, couples and groups of friends, enabling them to explore together without the hassle of crowded spaces.
