It is a volcanic formation that dates back around sixty-six million years, created during the enormous eruptions that shaped the Deccan Traps. The hill stands nearly two hundred feet tall and is made of black basalt that cooled into long, vertical pillars, giving it a striking, almost sculpted look. Only two other formations like this exist in the world, one in the United States and one in Northern Ireland, which makes this site incredibly special.
