Women Reservation In Delhi Police

The Centre today announced 33 per cent reservation for women in police forces of union territories, including Delhi, for posts from constables to sub-inspectors, in a move aimed at making police more gender-sensitive.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that 33 percent of posts in the Delhi Police will soon be reserved for women.

Health Minister J.P. Nadda said on Friday that the four AIIMS doctors sent to a mass sterilization camp in Chhattisgarh after 13 women died had helped set up proper norms there.

The Indian Home Ministry was allocated Rs 65,745 crore in the 2014-15 Budget announced on Thursday, a 11 per cent jump over last year's outlay, outlining a slew a measures for safety of women in large cities, setting up of Crisis Management Centres in Delhi and paramilitary forces getting a significant hike in their outlays.
