Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 in October, and while licensed users can upgrade to Windows 11 for free, many older PCs aren't compatible. However, Microsoft says users can join the Extended Security Updates (ESU) programme for free, delaying the switch to Windows 11 and receiving crucial security updates until October 2026.
