The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its third chargesheet in Uttar Pradesh's National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) scam. The chargesheet filed has been filed against three people in what the CBI terms as bungling in purchase of 951 computers and peripherals, that were purchased from the funds meant for the NRHM.

Raids were carried out at 30 places in 22 districts across the state and four news cases have been registered. The accused include medical suppliers and government doctors.

Lucknow official accused of health funds scam shoots himself

Sunil Verma, an officer among those accused of stealing crores worth of funds meant for better health facilities in Uttar Pradesh, has died after he shot himself in the head in his government flat in Lucknow. Mr Verma's is the fourth death linked to the National Rural Health Mission swindle.
