    उत्तराखंड (Uttarakhand) के मुख्यमंत्री तीरथ सिंह रावत (Tirath Singh Rawat) द्वारा युवाओं के फटी जींस पहनने संबंधी दिए बयान पर मचे बवाल के बाद बृहस्पतिवार को उनकी पत्नी रश्मि बचाव में उतरीं और कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री की बात पूरे संदर्भ में प्रस्तुत नहीं की जा रही है. यहां एक वीडियो के जरिए अपने बयान में रश्मि ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री रावत ने जिस पूरे संदर्भ में यह बात कही है उसका वर्णन नहीं किया जा रहा है. मिस मेरठ रह चुकीं रश्मि ने कहा, ‘‘उन्होंने (तीरथ सिंह) कहा कि महिलाओं की भागीदारी समाज और देश के निर्माण में अभूतपूर्व है. हमारे देश की महिलाओं के कंधों पर ही यह जिम्मेदारी है कि वह हमारी सांस्कृतिक धरोहर को बचाएं, हमारी पहचान को बचाएं, हमारी वेशभूषा को बचाएं.’’
