The Congress released its first list of 51 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections today, fielding former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan from Bhokar constituency and state party chief Vijay Balasaheb Thorat from Sangamner.

The committee held its first meeting on November 1. Other members of the high-level advisory committee are former RBI Deputy Governor Usha Thorat, former Securities and Exchange Board of India Chairman C B Bhave and Nachiket M Mor, Director of the Central Board of Directors of the RBI.

The four-hour long meeting of the high-level advisory committee (HLAC) was attended by other members---Usha Thorat, former RBI Deputy Governor, C B Bhave former SebiI chief, and Nachiket M Mor, Director of the Central Board of Directors of RBI.

A panel constituted by the government to review NCERT textbooks for Political and Social Science has recommended that cartoons that show politicians and bureaucrats in an "'incorrect way" be deleted.
