Security forces detected an IED-like object in Pattan area of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday following which traffic on the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway was temporarily suspended, officials said.

The security forces on Saturday detected and defused an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, informed the Army.

In a widely-praised gesture from the Sikh community, Gurdwara Damdama Sahib, established in 1947 and located along the Srinagar-Baramulla road, is going to be shifted for the construction of a national highway following an understanding on Thursday between the gurdwara management and the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar.

Air traffic was badly affected in Kashmir Valley due to inclement weather today as dense fog forced cancellation of all flights to and fro Srinagar Airport, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded, officials said.
