Gangster Abu Salem, who was shot at by another inmate yesterday, is back at Mumbai's Taloja Jail after being kept overnight in hospital. His attacker, a man called Devendra Jagtap, shot him in the hand with a country-made revolver.

Three people have been arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch for the murder of lawyer Shahid Azmi, the lawyer who defended 26/11 Indian accused Fahim Ansari. Azmi was shot dead in his office last Thursday.

Eyewitnesses told the police that Shahid was in his Kurla office when three assailants came in and pumped four bullets at point blank range.
