Shacks on Goa's beaches will now have to mandatorily serve "fish curry-rice", a staple of the coastal state, along with other Indian and international cuisines, said tourism minister Rohan Khaunte on Sunday.

Goa's welcoming beach shacks might not be around to facilitate tourists when the tourism season begins next month, with the National Green Tribunal on Friday directing the state government to keep its beach shack policy on hold, until it submits the mandatory Coastal Zone Management plan.

Goa beaches will soon have CCTV cameras installed on shacks to keep an eye on the shoreline activities.

Shacks dotting the Goa beaches will now have to install CCTV cameras round-the-clock as per the Beach Shack Policy guidelines adopted by the state government on Wednesday.

Soon, no ducking behind a sand dune or a coconut palm to change in or out of your swimwear. The Goa beach experience is about to undergo a dramatic change with the state government formulating a shack policy, complete with freshwater showers and toilets.
