Putting up a brave face after a cartoon in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' provoked a strong reaction from a section of Maratha community and led to attack on the newspaper's office, its editor Sanjay Raut in Mumbai said there was no reason for him to tender an apology.

The Shiv Sena, whose members have often vandalised the property of opponents, turned into a target today with an office in Mumbai of its mouthpiece, Saamana, attacked with stones over a cartoon that mocked recent protests by the powerful Maratha caste, which constitutes about 30% of Maharashtra's population.

Unknown persons pelted the Saamana printing press in Navi Mumbai with stones and threw ink at its offices in Thane on Tuesday, an official said in Thane.
