Rhino Attacked By Poachers

Three days an adult female rhino was killed, another female rhino and her calf were shot dead and their horns removed by poachers at the Kaziranga National Park in upper Assam last night, a forest department official said.

Wildlife veterinarians say there is an urgent need for anatomical research on rhinos, which have been heavily poached for their horns, because an increasing number survive attacks and need treatment for injuries including gunshot wounds or deep cuts from axes or machetes.
