Infosys announced on Thursday that Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has retired as Independent Director from the company's board as of March 22. The company said it has now appointed D Sundaram, who has been on the board since 2017, as Lead Independent Director of Infosys.

IT company Tech Mahindra on Saturday announced the appointment of former Infosys president Mohit Joshi as MD and CEO designate, who will take over the charge from C P Gurnani after his retirement on December 19 this year. Joshi will replace Gurnani who has been one of the longest serving chief executive officers of the Indian IT sector.

The NYU professor, who served on board of Infosys from 1998 until 2011, admitted that paucity of time had led to reduced correspondence with the company once he retired from the board.

Leading brokerages are willing to be patient with Infosys, which is in the midst of a restructuring under its executive chairman NR Narayana Murthy, who returned from retirement in June 2013 to lead the company he founded.

Nearly a fifth of the workforce had left the company in the quarter ended December following the return from retirement of founder N.R. Narayana Murthy.
