PA Sangma moves Supreme Court against Pranab Mukherjee's election as President

Former Lok Sabha Speaker and NDA's presidential candidate PA Sangma has moved Supreme Court challenging the election of Pranab Mukherjee as President. Mr Sangma wants Mr Mukherjee's election set aside because he was holding office of profit on the date of his nomination.

The two candidates who are hoping to be president of India are ready to hit the ground running. Pranab Mukherjee filed his nomination papers today as the candidate of the ruling coalition, the UPA. PA Sangma did the same as the opposition's contender: he's backed by the BJP, and chief ministers Jayalalithaa and Naveen Patnaik.
