Patidar leader Hardik Patel on Friday said that he would proceed on an indefinite hunger strike from today even if authorities deny him permission for it or the court cancels his bail. He made the remark on the eve of the third anniversary of the quota agitation in Gujarat.

After nine months in prison, on charges that include sedition, 22-year-old Hardik Patel is likely to leave jail today after being granted bail in all the cases against him. However, Mr Patel has guaranteed the Gujarat High Court that in return for his freedom, he will remain outside his home state for the next six months.
