Battling the Maggi controversy, global giant Nestle on Friday recalled its current India chief Etienne Benet to Switzerland head office and appointed Suresh Narayanan as his successor -- the first Indian to get this position after a gap of over 16 years.

Antonio Helio Waszyk, the current chairman and managing director, shall step down from the position of managing director with effect from October 1, 2013, to take up a new assignment within the Nestle Group.
