The National Investigation Agency has arrested a man wanted in the 2016 attack on an army camp in Jammu's Nagrota when he was allegedly trying to flee the country through Sri Lanka, officials said Saturday.

Terrorists, who stormed the army camp at Nagrota in Jammu region on November 29, used a silencer-fitted weapon to kill a sentry before gaining entry into the premises, a tactic adopted by suicide attackers for the first time in the troubled state.

Two main complexes at the army unit in Nagrota, which witnessed a fierce gunbattle and hostage-like situation, have been cleared by the army as combing operation continued for the second day today at the camp targeted by terrorists.

The police is probing if Jasih-e-Mohammed or JeM was responsible for Tuesday's terror attack on an army camp in Nagrota near Jammu, that left seven officers and jawans dead, after a note written in Urdu with the name of JeM's Afzal Guru Squad (AGS) was recovered from the bodies of three terrorists, a senior official said.
