Shops In Mumbai's Municipal Markets To Open On Odd-Even Basis

After remaining shut since the coronavirus-induced lockdown, shops in municipal markets of Mumbai will now be allowed to operate on odd-even basis, a civic official said on Wednesday.

Navi Mumbai Civic Body Bans Sale of Meat During 'Paryushan'

Close on the heels of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) suspending the sale of meat in its markets for four days, now the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, controlled by the NCP, has announced a similar measure till September 17, as these dates fall within the eight-day Jain fasting period of 'Paryushan'.

Three civic body officers arrested for Mumbai building collapse

Three Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officers have been arrested in connection with the building collapse in Mumbai's Mazgaon area on Friday. Deputy Superintendent PS Chavan, Assistant Engineer Rahul Jadhav and Market Inspector Jamaluddin Kazi have been arrested by the Mumbai Police. Mr Chavan was originally a complainant in the case.
