Five bike-borne men robbed around 23 kg of gold and Rs 10 lakh cash at gunpoint from a finance company's branch in Rajasthan's Udaipur on Monday, police said.

The manager of a branch of Manappuram Finance Ltd has been detained in connection with the robbery of gold and valuables, worth around Rs 20 crore, from a branch of IIFL in Cuttack, a senior police officer said on Friday.

Unidentified, armed criminals stormed into a branch of the Manappuram Finance Company here on Thursday and fled with 15 kg of gold bars, biscuits, and coins after threatening the employees there, police said.

In a major heist, five armed men dressed in police uniform allegedly decamped with 15 kilograms of gold and Rs 3 lakh in cash from the office of a finance company in Nashik, police said.
