Madras Station Restart

The second 220 MW unit at the Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS), which was shut down due to fuel machine problem/minor leak, is expected to restart within six days, a top plant official said.

Two nuclear power units of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) in Tamil Nadu are expected to restart operations this week, said officials.

Two reactors of the Nuclear Power Corporation Ltd's (NPCIL) Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS) that shut down after a power supply breaker tripped leading to a power cut early on Sunday would restart generation around Aug 23, said a senior official here on Monday.
