Lt General Philip Campose- a veteran mechanised infantry officer, has taken over as the new Vice Chief of Army Staff succeeding Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag, who is now heading the 1.3 million strong force.

Veteran mechanised infantry officer Lt General Philip Campose was today appointed as the next Army Vice Chief to succeed Lt Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag, who will take over as the chief of the 1.3 million strong-force on July 31.
