Karnataka: Lokayukta's report on illegal mining submitted
Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde's mammoth report on illegal mining in the state has been formally presented to the government. The report indicts Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and politicians from many other parties, accusing them of colluding to allow illegal mining and benefitting from it, often through kickbacks.

In what may be fresh trouble for the BJP in Karnataka, sources have told NDTV that Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and his ministerial colleagues have been named in the Karnataka Lokayukta's report on illegal mining. Also in the dock are some Congress leaders from the state, and former Chief Minister, and Janata Dal (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy.
