Five suspected terrorists were arrested in Bengaluru today by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for allegedly planning a terror attack in the Karnataka capital.

A constitutional amendment bill introduced by Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde in the Lok Sabha Friday seeks to establish a special development board for six most backward districts of Karnataka.

Another terror suspect has been arrested in Bangalore today. Dr Nayeem Siddiqui is a medical student from Davenegere in North Karnataka. The police say they have seized Rs 10,000 in cash and a few CDs. The police also claim Dr Siddiqui was acting as a recruiter for banned terror outfits.

One more person has been arrested in Bangalore for alleged links to banned terror organisations and plotting to assassinate several politicians and journalists in Karnataka. So far, 17 people with alleged links to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI) have been arrested.

Ruling out exchange of fire near an ISRO facility on the city outskirts on Tuesday, the Karnataka government has rejected a CISF guard's claim that two unidentified men shot at the centre.
