Former Supreme Court judge Justice Markandey Katju today moved the Supreme Court seeking early hearing of a contempt case against him for allegedly using "intemperate" language and "scandalising" the judiciary.

Inside a courtroom where he passed judgements, former judge Markandey Katju was on Friday pulled up for contempt over a blog criticising Supreme Court judges. "I don't bother," he declared before storming out.

All eyes in the Supreme Court tomorrow will be on former top Court judge Markandey Katju who has been summoned to appear in person before it to point out the "fundamental flaws", as claimed by him in the sensational Soumya rape case.

After he said in a Facebook post that the Supreme Court had seriously "erred in law" by reducing the sentence of the convict in the 2011 rape and murder of 23-year-old Soumya in Kerala, Justice Markandeya Katju has been asked to explain his views in court.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, smarting over what he has perceived as a huge insult to his state, wants to know if former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju is "the mai baap (parents) and owner of Bihar."
