Karnataka to Send Over Rs 5 Crore Bill to Tamil Nadu for Jayalalithaa Case

The Karnataka government is sending over a bill of more than Rs. 5.11 crore to neighbour Tamil Nadu soon. This is just the expenses of their law department that has been spent on conducting the trial of Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa, and three others in a corruption case over the last 12 years.

Dubbing the Karnataka government's decision to appeal in the Supreme Court against the verdict acquitting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in an assets case as "shameful," the ruling AIADMK today asserted that its chief will again prove her innocence.

Law Department Examining High Court Judgement on Jayalalithaa: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Even as AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa returned to power today, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the state law department is examining the judgement of the High Court which acquitted her of all charges and the government would take a decision on filing an appeal in the case after receiving the report.
