Iphone Alert Message Opposition Leaders

Months after several Opposition leaders claimed that they received messages warning of "state-sponsored" hackers trying to access their iPhones, the tech giant is sending out a "mercenary spyware" alert to its users in 92 countries, including India.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday asked the Opposition to submit their phones and cooperate in investigation to find the truth over Apple allegedly sending a message to them about "state-sponsored hackers" trying to attack their iPhones.

Hours after some opposition leaders claimed that they had received messages from Apple warning of 'state-sponsored' hackers trying to access their iPhones, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has posed a series of pointed questions to the tech giant.

Apple on Tuesday responded to opposition leaders' claims - that they received messages warning them of "state-sponsored" hackers - and said it "does not attribute the notifications to any specific state-sponsored attacker".
