The Rajasthan government on Tuesday lifted curbs on the interstate movement of people, citing improvement in the coronavirus situation.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today directed officials to regulate interstate movement of people and screen those entering the state to prevent the coronavirus spread.

The Supreme Court has given a week's time to Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to decide on a common policy for inter-state movement in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The top court has also directed the centre to call a meeting of the three states and decide on a common portal.

Interstate movement of passenger cars and buses are allowed with mutual consent between states, the centre said today as it extended the coronavirus lockdown till May 31, the third extension since the lockdown was announced on March 25.

The Karnataka government has decided to allow one time interstate movement for students and migrant workers who wish to return to their home, state Law Minister Madhuswamy said today. The minister, however, added that the entry to the state will be subject to tests.
