45 killed as speeding bus headed to Hyderabad catches fire

It was a little after 5 am when the bus headed to Hyderabad from Bangalore hit a barrier on the highway. The passengers on board were sleeping when the Volvo went up in flames, reportedly because the fuel tank exploded. 45 people were killed, many of them burnt alive. Among them were a baby and a seven-year-old girl.

Crackdown continues against errant bus operators in Andhra Pradesh

For the sixth day on Saturday, transport authorities in Andhra Pradesh continued their drive against privately run commuter and school buses plying in violation of rules following an accident last week when 30 people, including many IT professionals, were killed while travelling to Shirdi.

Bodies of bus accident victims being brought to Hyderabad

Bodies of 32 people, who were killed in the bus accident near Naldurg in Maharashtra today, were being brought to Hyderabad even as authorities managed to identify only six of the deceased.
