Film Institute Students Not Averse to Top Ministry Official Taking Charge

The agitating students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) are not averse to the Information and Broadcasting secretary assuming the post of chairman till a transparent mechanism to select the institute's governing body is evolved, sources on the campus have said.

Film Institute Students to End Hunger Strike if Centre Ready for Dialogue

The agitating students of the Film and Television Institute of India today said they would withdraw their hunger strike to pave way for a dialogue with the government if the Information and Broadcasting ministry confirmed a date for talks to resolve their demands, including removal of actor Gajendra Chauhan as chairman of the institute.

Government Keen to Resolve FTII Issue, Says Rajyavardhan Rathore

Asserting that the government was keen to resolve the FTII issue, Minister of State Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore today said further decisions in this regard would be taken after the three-member team constituted by the ministry returns from Pune.
