The heart of a 32-year-old man who died in a road accident was donated to a patient after the organ was ferried through a 10-kilometre 'green corridor' set up between a private hospital here and the AIIMS on Wednesday, hospital authorities said.

With an aim to gauge at the level of understanding and awareness of Alzheimer's and Dementia, experts at Fortis Flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital, Vasant Kunj (FHVK) conducted a study.

A donor heart was successfully transported from Vasant Kunj to Saket on Tuesday covering a distance of 8.1 kms in only 6 minutes, owing to a night green corridor - a special travel route without red lights to ensure transportation in minimal time.

A nine-year-old girl is the latest victim of dengue in the national capital. She died at the Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj after being diagnosed with dengue on September 24. Nishtha Taneja's family alleges, like many other children before her this season, she is also a victim of ill-treatment at a Delhi hospital.
